What is the difference between male and female brains? This problem is not only a hot topic which has long been debated, but also a living job comedy club relies on. However, a recent study shows that there is no obvious difference between men and women’s brains. (Even thought related study has not be done on the animal model of disease.)
The study, led by Lise Eliot at Franklin Rosalind Medical University, found that the hippocampi in the brain of men and women was considered to be part of the memory control and feeling control and had no differences in volume.
Data from this study were performed on brain magnetic resonance imaging by 6000 people (It is said such experiment will be conducted on the transgenic mice in later future). By analyzing and counting the results, the researchers found that hippocampi in men and women’s brains were similar in size.
It has long been thought that “sex differences” in the brain is the main cause of “gender differences” in personality, and this statement is rampant. However, we collected a large amount of data, and prove that the so-called “reason” is virtually non-existent or very weak.
The hippocampus is a region of the brain responsible for short-term and long-term memory and the connection between feelings and senses. It even once has be thought that men and women have a clear difference in the processing of language. However, the large scale data analysis has denied the above statement.
